"Third time eating at clays it's absolutely delicious I tried a little bit of everything. The owner,Jack told us that the berry syrup for the pancakes is his mom's old recipe it was really good on top of those pancakes. The sausage gravy was amazing I always try different gravy at different restaurants and this one is up there at the top very flavorful. The bread pudding is soo good, every other bread pudding I've tried i wasn't a fan of this bread pudding is the best I've had. I'm excited to try the rhubarb strawberry pie it looks yummy definitely gonna eat it with a spoon. The crust on the pie is homemade too."

"If you're in Fremont and want to enjoy a good homemade meal, you need to stop by Clay's Family Restaurant! We received a warm welcome from the owner, Jack, and his wife Marilyn as soon as we walked in, and immediately felt right at home. Our waiter, Rick, was friendly and provided great service! The menu was full of good choices, making it difficult to decide! We enjoyed the selections on the salad bar, and the soups were exactly what would be expected when you hear the words "they're homemade"! My BLT was exceptional and the onion rings were homemade, something that's getting harder to find. If you like pies, you're in for a treat! With so many to choose from making up our minds was difficult, but we definitely enjoyed the Dutch Apple and Rhubarb. On a side note, the restrooms were exceptionally clean. Thanks Jack, Marilyn and Rick!"

"Ordered a couple of pies. I use to get the rasberry pie a few years ago. (I moved away) It use to be amazing. Something has since changed in their way of making it. It was so bad I couldn't even eat 1 slice of it. Not even made the same way. Mostly a jell filling now. I understand the cost has gone up for food, but if you are going to charge $20 for a pie, I want more than crust with jell and a few raspberries."

"Owner and staff were very pleasant and interesting. Menu was perfect for a local, comfort-food, great ambiance place. Food was plentiful and tasty. Pork tenderloin was huge! We tried 5 kinds of pie and all were delicious!!"

"Stopped in here after visiting Clear Lake for swimming. It was an afternoon lunch simple BLT's with fries and a salad. Our food was good because as simple as a BLT goes it was the bacon that made the BANG for the buck~! Our waitress must have been new,...but overall it was a nice lunch before headin back to Angola. Great quaint little family restaurant."
